Dear Ursuline Community,
As we approach Easter, a time of renewal and hope, we are filled with gratitude for the gifts we receive from one another as a community of faith. We are reminded of the importance of supporting and uplifting each other, similar to how Simon helped Jesus carry the cross to Calvary or how Veronica soothed his pain by wiping his face.
This month we experienced the passing of June Greer, a beloved coach, teacher, and friend of the Ursuline Academy community. Coach Greer dedicated 34 years to Ursuline, wherein she was a model of the spirit of St. Angela. Our community was her second family. June’s spirit of joy, competitive nature, and deep faith left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her love for golf and volleyball, her unwavering support for her family, her faith in the face of adversity, and her contributions to our community are an inspiration to us all.
I am honored to announce that June’s legacy will live on through the establishment of the June Greer Endowed Scholarship. This generous gift, made in memory of June by the Greer Family, will be used to benefit future students at Ursuline Academy beginning in the 2024-2025 school year. My prayer for you this month is that you find peace in the promise of eternal life through the resurrection. May we continue to grow together as a vibrant Ursuline community and may this Easter bring each of us renewed strength, hope and blessings.
