Two of the Ursuline Core Values are development of the whole person and respect for the uniqueness of the individual. To that end, the Academy strives to provide clubs and organizations that offer a balance of academics, spiritual formation, leadership and fun!
Ursuline offers a wide variety of student organizations and clubs. There is an activity for just about every interest, and lots of opportunities to make new friends and practice leadership skills. Join a sports team, perform in a play, design the musical set...Discover the power within U!
Performing and Visual Arts
For students with a desire to develop their artistic side, Ursuline offers many opportunities from the classroom to the stage to the studio.
In addition to the Christmas and spring choral/instrumental concerts and dance recitals, Ursuline produces a fall play and spring musical with many student positions on stage as well as behind the scenes. Student artwork is also on display in O'Hara Hall throughout the year with a formal art show held in April.
Home of the Bears!
At Ursuline Academy, the athletic department prides itself on preparing, through a sport experience, strong, wise, confident women to live in a global society.
BE A BEAR
Ursuline Academy offers 14 sports and is a member of the Metro Women's Athletic Association (MWAA) made up of eight schools. To allow incoming freshmen to experience the camaraderie of a team, we feature no-cut freshman sports of soccer, basketball and field hockey.
Be a leader, meet new friends, and develop your Serviam (I will serve) spirit. Clubs and organizations not only help students become involved, but also help build self-esteem and develop leadership skills. They add to a sense of belonging to the larger Ursuline community. There is something for everyone at Ursuline Academy. Discover the "U" in Ursuline!
The counseling department assists each student in all phases of her school life through a student-centered program addressing academic, personal, and college planning needs. One of three full-time counselors is assigned to every new student, and that counselor guides her from her starting days as a freshman through her last days as a senior. Counselors help students with:
College preparation and planning
Stress management skills
Friendships and relationships
Study and organizational strategies
The counseling department also includes a full-time learning consultant to accommodate the individual differences and unique needs presented by our students. As a school dedicated to the uniqueness of the individual, we need to address these needs because of their substantial impact on the learning process.
