A Day of Sisterhood: Community Day Kicks Off a New Year at UA

There’s no better way to start a new school year than together! Community Day is one of Ursuline Academy’s favorite traditions, bringing Bears back to campus for a day filled with faith, friendship and plenty of school spirit.

The day began with a beautiful prayer service as our community gathered to reflect on this year’s theme: “Seek to spread peace.” Students and faculty then got to know our House Captains, who helped welcome our newest Bears into the Ursuline sisterhood.

Freshmen, transfer students and new faculty and staff members took part in one of the day’s most exciting traditions: House sorting! Each new Bear received a cupcake topped with colorful sprinkles representing their House. Once they discovered their House, they got to “run home” and join their new House family.

The day wrapped up with UA Ball, giving our community one more chance to celebrate, laugh and make memories together before the school year officially began.

At Ursuline, Community Day is more than a first-day tradition—it’s a reminder that every Bear has a place here. From the moment you step onto campus, you’re welcomed into a community built on connection, sisterhood and belonging.
