Office of Mission Effectiveness and Campus Ministry

The Mission Effectiveness/Campus Ministry Office assists the President and the Principal in their responsibility to maintain and integrate the Academy’s philosophy, mission, and vision in all aspects of its organizational life.  It develops information and experiences that help build an awareness of the Ursuline charism in the faith community, among students, co-workers, board members, parents, and alumnae.

 

STUDENTS

Understanding that our students lie at the heart of our mission, the Mission Effectiveness/Campus Ministry Office strives to nurture the uniqueness of each student while providing students with a lived experience of Catholic Christianity and our motto  of SERVIAM, I will serve.

 

PRAYER

Under the direction of this office students assist and participate in daily prayer, seasonal prayer services, and planning Eucharistic liturgies.

 

RETREATS

The retreat program challenges students to grow in their faith, with experiences being offered each of their four years.  Juniors and seniors are also called upon to offer valuable peer leadership for the freshman and sophomore retreats.

 

SERVICE

An important element toward spiritual growth is Ursuline’s emphasis on service to the community.  Ursuline students must complete 120 hours of service before graduation, including 60 hours during the junior year, two-week service project.  Students choose from over 60 approved St. Louis sites including those that serve the poor, senior citizens, young children, and in centers for chronically ill adults and children.  In addition, students have the opportunity to travel outside the St. Louis area on school- sponsored service trips.
