UA Fathers’ Club (DUDs)

The Ursuline Academy Fathers' Club, affectionately called the DUDs (Dads of Ursuline Daughters), is open to all fathers, step-fathers, or father-figure of your choosing, of our Ursuline students. The DUDs serves as a venue to get to know other Dads of Ursuline Daughters, talk about being a Dad of a teenage daughter(s), and encourages active participation.

The DUDs manage or assist the following UA events and programs: 

  • Locker Shelf Sales
    • The DUDs sell sturdy shelves that fit in the UA lockers.  Click the link above for a registration form.
  • Fall and Spring Gatherings  
    • As casual, get-to-know-you gatherings, the DUDs may grill or gather to watch Monday Night Football while enjoying a low key, low-cost evening of BBQ, refreshments and a good time.  Join us for our annual BBQ on Wednesday, September 15, 5:30pm.  Please RSVP to Mike or Jeff.
  • Father-Daughter Dance
    • The annual Father Daughter Dance is organized by a dedicated committee running one of the most popular events of the year. Tasks include selection of venue, menu, favors, invitations, table assignments and collections. This event regularly has over 90% student/dad participation.   
  • Fall Festival
    • The DUDs assist the Mothers' Club with setup and tear down of all booths plus the removal of trash for the annual Fall Festival.
  • Spring Clean Up
    • Working with UA and the maintenance staff, a volunteer army of DUDs armed with rakes, brooms, spades and trimmers attacks UA's landscaping needs.
    • Begin at 8am with an anticipated finish time of 12pm.  Pick-up trucks are needed.
  • Networking Opportunities

The $25 annual membership fee contributes to the Fathers' Club Scholarship.  The locker shelves sales and the proceeds from the Father Daughter Dance also contribute to the scholarship.

When the organization started, the DUDs created the Fathers’ Club Scholarship.  Through Ursuline, this scholarship helps families who require financial assistance upon the death of a parent to ensure a student is able to remain at Ursuline.  We feel very strongly that when a tragedy like this hits home, at least the school part of her life can remain normal.

Our organization, as do all organizations, recognizes that some members participate more than others. This is understandable for a variety of reasons (work schedule, prior commitments, etc.) and rest assured, you will not be looked upon in an unfavorable way by your fellow members. The DUDs historically have always met Ursuline’s needs at an event with sufficient manpower; however, it is always nice to see some new faces.

The DUDs organization survives on your annual membership fee of $25 and whatever time you can devote to Ursuline for scheduled events. The membership fee is reasonable and the cause is priceless.

If you are already a member of the DUDs, we thank you for your contribution. For those of you who have not gotten around to joining, we welcome your membership and/or participation. If you are hearing about our organization for the first time, please give us your consideration. We look forward to meeting you.
